AIP SCHOOL WIDE PROJECT
2023

Christmas Tree Decorations

WHY ?

Welcome to AIP GIVES 2023! This school wide project's focus is to teach students the power of giving, under the principles of Christ. The story of the "Good Samaritan" (Luke 10: 30-37) teaches us that helping others allows us to embody the heart and mind of Jesus. As the story ends, Jesus challenges each of us to "Go and do likewise!" At AIP, we want to not only be hearers of the word but also doers.

WHO?

All of us! This project involves the entire school and there is a special portion where AIP families may choose to take on an additional role. There are 3 graded student projects and 1 optional family project.

WHEN?

PROJECT START DATE: 11/6/23

PROJECT DUE DATE: 11/15/23 (Thanksgiving Can Food Drive )

PROJECT DUE DATE: 11/29/23  (ALL OTHER ITEMS MUST BE TURNED IN ON THIS DATE!)

WHAT?

1. STUDENT PROJECT(GRADED ACADEMIC):

Watch the video below before starting the project. Students will fill one 6qt clear shoe box container with special items for a child of their same age and gender. The goal is for students to make conscious decisions about giving to others. The container is to be wrapped in Christmas paper twice. Once wrapped, the top of the container is to be labeled with the appropriate gender and age (ex: Boy, Age 8). Please be sure to mark the container using a permanent marker so the information is easily displayed against the wrapping paper. The cost to ship the gift is $10. Please place the $10 inside a sealed  envelope and place your child's name on the envelope. The student, based on grade level, will write a letter, in Spanish, to the child that will receive their gift during Spanish class. Student's unable to write letters will have a pre-formatted letter they will have help completing during Spanish class. DUE 11/29/23.

2. STUDENT PROJECT(GRADED ACADEMIC):

As we move closer to the holiday season, this is a time where many children do not have meals due to schools being closed. In an effort to assist families in need, AIP will collect can goods and other non perishable food items. Students will bring 2-3 canned goods and drop them off in their teacher's basket. Parents, it is very important that the students perform this act as the learning opportunity is for them. DUE 11/15/23.

3. STUDENT PROJECT (GRADED ACADEMIC):

Students will create a travel size toiletry packs for local shelters. Students will put together one toiletry pack. Please place all items in a large Ziplock bag. DUE 11/29/23.

4. FAMILY COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT (OPTIONAL):

AIP along with our partner church, Welcome Hill Baptist Church, is supporting The Bear Tree Children's Christmas. The mission of this organization is to find families to support children in need for Christmas. AIP has gained 3 children that need our help. We invite our families to come to our adoption tree and select an ornament with a child's name and requested gift. We have a total of 36 gifts assigned to our school. Please place all gifts, unwrapped, in gift bags labeled with the child's name. There is nothing more powerful than to know that God is using you to be a blessing.  We invite your family to be a cheerful giver!

DUE 11/29/23.

*The gift tree is located near the office. Please see the AIP Secretary *
